Amber S. Donati, Psy.D., is a Licensed Psychologist and a Pittsburgh native. After completing her Bachelors degree at Penn State University, Dr. Donati obtained her Masters degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University. She earned her Doctorate of Psychology degree from Nova Southeastern University. Following her internship at the Broward Sheriff’s Office North Broward Bureau in Pompano Beach Florida, Dr. Donati returned to the Pittsburgh area in 2012.
Dr. Donati focuses on an object relations approach to treatment while integrating cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavior and family systems therapy techniques to best meet the needs and treatment goals of the individual. She believes that people perceive and relate to themselves, others and situations in their adult lives in ways that are shaped by early childhood relationships. Dr. Donati values a collaborative relationship with her client as a cornerstone for personal growth and recovery. She establishes a caring and supportive environment to help her clients better understand the underlying causes of their symptoms. She works with clients to improve coping, facilitate healing and develop emotional resiliency.
Dr. Donati has extensive clinical experience in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient and residential treatment environments. She assists individuals, families, adolescents and adult clients with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, addiction, abuse, trauma, relationship and family difficulties, and coping with life stressors.
